Artes Mundi 4 shortlist announced

The shortlist for the fourth Artes Mundi Prize – the biennial British contemporary art award established in 2003 – was announced on 8 October. The eight artists were selected from more than 480 nominations from over 80 countries were Yael Bartana (Israel), Fernando Bryce (Peru), Ergin Çavuşoğlu (Bulgaria), Chen Chieh-jen (Taiwan), Olga Chernysheva (Russia), Gulnara Kasmalieva & Muratbek Djumaliev (Kyrgyzstan) and Adrian Paci (Albania). An exhibition of works by the shortlisted artists will take place at National Museum Cardiff from 11 March – 6 June 2010.
