Conference for Recording Arts and Archives

A two-day international symposium on ‘sound recording’. The conference will take up as its primary themes sound design, not as a by-product of music and cinema, but as a medium in its own right, and archiving recordings from the past as a cultural resource. Panelists include French composer and theorist Michel Chion, ICC curator Hatanaka Minoru, Singapore video artist Ho Tzu Nyen, and Japanese film director Kurosawa Kiyoshi, who is also scheduled to give a talk.
