Forum: collecting sentiment against budget screening

In response to a call by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for submissions on the screening of programs by the Government Revitalization Unit formed in September to eliminate wasteful public spending, the Japan Center, Pacific Basin Arts Communication is to convene a forum focusing on the sort of ‘outcomes’ achieved by individual artists and groups receiving subsidy funding. Discussion will center on the screening of international exchange programs involving the Japan Arts Council and artists, with the results being compiled in a written opinion for submission to MEXT.
