The new multi-use Rolex Learning Center is located on the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, which overlooks Lake Geneva and the Alps. Open to the public as well as students, it will act as a hub for EPFL’s international cultural exchange. The innovative building was designed by the world-class Japanese architectural duo, SANAA. It houses a 500,000 volume library, information center, socializing spaces, study spaces and restaurants, all organically arranged in a seamless, roughly 20,000 sq. meter unpartitioned space, punctured here and there with courtyards.
