Three emerging artists present painted works in solo-show formats. Maeda portrays a series of scenes from Jonathan Livingston Seagull and a women reading the novel, changing style and motif from one work to the next. Azuma shows a series of new works featuring silhouettes of animals and people crammed with a collage of images within, in what might be termed off-key self-portraits. Ishimori’s group of small-scale works incorporate pop images in unrestricted ways, and yet as whole, they somehow project a dry, nether-worldly tone.
