Throughout the ages and regions of the world starting with ancient Greece, the Four Elements have been regarded as the essence of creation, change and breakdown of matter. Comprising seven new videos of the natural environment surrounding a dead volcano in the Spanish Canary Islands and an active volcano in Guatemala, Earth Water Fire Air focuses on the four basic elements that make up our world, thereby raising questions about the relationship between humans and nature. This marks the first solo show in ten years in the home country of the Korean artist known for her works incorporating elements of traditional Korean and women’s culture.
