The Tokyo-born, Paris-based Tane is a member of Dorell.Ghotmeh.Tane / Architects, who base their work on a belief in architecture informed by the ‘specificity of a place’ and ‘the context of history and memory’. Internationally recognized, they were the winners of the international competition for the design of the New Estonian National Museum. They also seek collaborations with professionals from different disciplines in works that have included set design for dance and fashion shows and booth design for art fairs.

In his first solo show working independently as an artist, Tane presents two sculptural works giving concrete form to the beliefs he applies to his architecture. Pasts consists of 99 photographs of different clock faces printed on transparent film standing superimposed in equidistant layers. Whether ’99’ will progress to ‘100’ or revert back to ‘1’, Tane leaves unknown – in work that expresses infinite possibility for the future.
