Comerchina – Hopscotch
Installation
A solo show of new paintings and installations exploring new China’s over-commercialization and obsession with money. The artist coined the word ‘Comerchina’ to mean ‘Commercial China’ or ‘Made in China’. Here he uses the symbols of money, adverts and the touch pad of mobile phones – the essentials of the conemporary urban Chinese lifestyle – to create a highly stylized group of new paintings.
