Held annually by the National Art Center, Tokyo since 2008, Artist File presents a selection of artists working in Japan or abroad ‘whose practices are among some of the most noteworthy on the contemporary art scene today’. This year’s exhibition features seven artists who differ significantly in age and expressive approach: Fukuda Naoyo, Ishida Takashi, Kuwakubo Toru, Aernout Mik, Minamino Kaoru, O JUN, and Saito Chisato. Structured as of a series of solo exhibitions, the show allows viewers to immerse themselves in the singular world of each artist as it is unfolding ‘today’.
