Through the work of five artists working in video, painting and printmaking, this exhibition explores the schism between being in-itself and being for-itself and the Buddhist concept of wuwei (Sanskrit: sunyata). The exhibition likens the creative process of the artist to that of a Buddhist practitioner reciting sutras or creating a mandala, emphasizing the journey of meditation/practice rather than the end work displayed for the public. New works from participating artists Ben Houge, Cindy Ing, Shi Zhiying, Wang Hui, and Wang Jun will be shown in addition to live performances. (Nina Myers)
