Manit Sriwanichpoom: Masters

11.19 – 12.12
Chalk Horse(Sydney)

The first Sydney solo exhibition of the Thai artist best known for his Pink Man series critiquing Thai consumerism. Focusing on the eerily life-like sculptures of famous monks placed in Thai temples to solicit cash offerings from the faithful, Manit’s Masters photographs form a critique of the corruption of Thai Buddhism. Masters was co-organized with the Kathmandu Photo Gallery in Bangkok, where the series is showing concurrently. Catch the artist’s Waiting for the King (standing) series at the 6th Asia-Pacific Triennial too.
