The Japanese artist known for recontextualizing monumental sculptures by enclosing them in structures. In Sydney, he makes the two outdoor sculptures that generally greet visitors as they approach the Gallery the target of his works. Reminiscent of construction sites from the outside, the beautifully decorated interiors appear like domestic living spaces … save their towering, now surreal, once ‘outdoor’ elements.
