The virtuality which it was employed Kishio Suga

This time, in Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, I will hold an artist representing collection of this museum, a long-awaited private exhibition of Kishio Suga (1944 -). Kan who graduated from Tama University of Arts in 1968 is the writer who pulled an art trend of this time called “materials art sect”, and in late years I attract attention again, and, as for the-like trial, the coherent activity for half a century receives the evaluation that is high in the inside and outside in the 70s when it joined a conceptual thought and material together.

It may be said that installation of Kan that a stone or a tree, a metal plate are formed as material in space is generation of “the scenery” that I go up by letting a material and a material exist together between one sky. Because feeling characteristics control mutual linkage characteristics that a material gathers and is born from thing, there existing wealthily, space and a material begin transformation. It may be said that there are thing, that of activating space by a result intervention called the original act in the essence of the work of Kan.

The work of Kan reflects the complexity that is a physical and our internal desire for the contact with the world with the actual feeling in modern virtual networked society, and it is tied to today’s evaluation. The book exhibition introduces many suggestive viewpoints that Kan work contains about a material and a body, space mainly on the 1970s when a concept of Kan appeared on the radical mark. It will be that the thought and the original way of the creation to add to importance through the installation including the new work and a plane work and a production notebook and a record picture becoming the first public exhibition today become clear.
