Jae-Eun Choi exhibition coming soon!

From Hara Museum, Tokyo

Jae-Eun Choi―Forests of Asoka will open in a month. This will be a first solo exhibition in Japan by Jae-En Choi, who has been active in Japan for quite a while. All the works on view will be her latest creations.

When we visited her studio the other day, she was in the middle of discussing the details of frames to be used for her photographic works she just developed in Dusseldorf. Paying attention to every detail, her uncompromising requests are challenging to craftsmen which reveals her professional approach to artistic creation.

Through her career, the form of Choi’s artworks has undergone unceasing change. What ties them together are her ideas about and concern for life, as shown in works such as Earth (on view at Sogetsu Plaza, 1985) and Micro-Macro (on view at the Venice Biennale, 1995), which have continued to be the underlying theme in all of her art.

We look forward to your visit!
