From the Hara Museum (Tokyo)

Currently on view at the Hara Museum in Tokyo is William Eggleston: Paris – Kyoto.
The artist came to Japan in early June for the preparation of the exhibition.

We asked the artist who enjoys Jazz, Blues, 50s Rock and diverse genres of music about his liking for music.
“I have a couple of pianos. I like Kawai, Steinberg and Bösendorfer. I also enjoy playing electric piano these days. It’s fun because it produces sounds of various musical instruments” says the artist.
He had thought about becoming a pianist when he was little. But then he realized that shooting photos is more to do with capturing the ‘now’ and the ‘present’ in time, which he appreciates very much, than playing music pieces by composers, which is more to do with the past.
“I am photographing today, anywhere” says the artist.
