“LOOKING FOR THE SHEEP” BLANK MUSEUM

From Hara Museum, Tokyo

The first day of the four-day event “BLANK MUSEUM” has just finished.
After the magical visual experience of films by Kenneth Anger, a live concert by Haino Keiji and Jim O’Rourke was held by the courtyard of the museum, enveloped in purple light. The jam session between the two artists and autumn insects was absolutely mesmerizing.

On the 27th (Fri.), there will be a screening of Derek Jarman’s “BLUE ” (to be shown in four gallery rooms), followed by a lighting installation by Nakanishi Yusuke, and performances by Shibuya Keiichiro and Yakushimaru Etsuko!

The events to be held on the 28th (Sat.) and 29th (Sun.) are both entitled LOOKING FOR THE SHEEP, where new performances by Ameya Norimizu-Tachi, Higashino Yoko and honagayoko project will be shown.

Ameya will appear in his new work entitled “Uma” (horse), and will perform in group under the name “Ameya Norimizu-Tachi.” Ameya’s performance is characteristic in a way he intentionally makes the relationship between the performer and the audience ambiguous by roaming around the venue, removing the border between stage and audience, which is befitting to the concept of LOOKING FOR THE SHEEP where guests will stroll around the venue guided by the sheep.

Ameya Norimizu

The dancer and choreographer Higashino Yoko, who leads a dance performance group BABY-Q, seeks the potentials of the physical and emotional expressions through collaboration with music and visual images. She has been performing overseas, including France and Italy. She will perform interactively with the audience, in a museum space, also liberating herself from a conventional notion of stage.

Higashino Yoko

Honaga Yoko transforms physical expression into visual and musical expressions by dancing together with music performance. The honagayoko project where she is involved also as a choreographer, is for her somewhat a sport band who tours in a museum. She will perform with a drummer and six performers. The dynamic performance is a must-see!
