Yasuhiro Suzuki BloomBUS! report

From the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo

The BloomBUS! free shuttle bus service that we have been offering between Shinagawa Station (Takanawa exit) and the Hara Museum every Sunday is receiving positive responses.

The design of the artwork of the bus this time is by Yasuhiro Suzuki, who uses a wide range of methods to create highly distinctive work embodying everyday transient phenomena.

Suzuki participates in the Setouchi International Art Festival 2010 (opened on July 19), the festival which takes place in Takamatsu and seven islands of the Seto Inland Sea. Here, Suzuki presents a ship mimicking a pulling piece of a zipper, called the “Ship of the Zipper.” This huge zipper piece actually travels across the sea as a water bus between Megijima island and Tamatsu during the festival.
