Dirocca Jewelry Fair Until August 31 (Sunday) [Hara Museum, Tokyo]

The Museum Shop at the Hara Museum

The Museum Shop is happy to recommend for summer wearing the Dirocca series of colorful, transparent candy-like accessories by Kisso Products. Widely noted for the superb skill of its artisans and high standards of its workmanship, Kisso Products is headquaquartered in the city of Sabae in Fukui prefecture, a major center of eyeglass manufacturing. For one month only, a selection of Dirocca rings, pinky rings and bracelets will be on sale at the Museum Shop.

Dirocca accessories consist of gorgeously colored “blocks” made from celluose acetate sheets produced by the renowned Italian company Mazzuchelli, one of the world’s top brands in eyeglass frames.

Using a special technique, Kisso, artisans shave each block one at a time from laminated sheets of 6-mm and 4-mm material, respectively. The blocks are then polished dozens of times as they are transformed into the finished product.
(The name “Dirocca” comes from the Italian word for “block,” as in “crystal blocks.”
