Laplamp byPipilotti Rist

From the Selections from the Hara Museum Collection (Tokyo)

Do you remember Pipilotti Rist: Karakara, an exhibition held at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in fall 2007? It was a solo exhibition of works by the Swiss female artist Pipilotti Rist showcasing dynamic video installations. Laplamp (2006) was a small work discreetly displayed at the corner of a room. The work consists of a floor lamp and a chair you would find in every household.

The Laplamp is now on view at the ongoing exhibition Selections from the Hara Museum Collection.

Just sit on the chair, and your lap will turn into a screen.
How do you feel the image projected onto your body?
Is it something sweet, weird or lecherous?
