From Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo
“My Drawing Room” (August 2004-), a permanent installation by artist Yoshitomo Nara, has gotten a new counter. “It would be great for visitors to have something to rest their elbows on while they look at the work,” said the artist. A sketch by the artist served as a blueprint for the new counter, which is set further into the room to give visitors a closer look than before.
Visitors will notice a small window set below the counter at just the height for small children to peek through. From there, they’ll have a great view of the dogs that the artist brought to the room last November.
The artist plans to continue to visit the museum every now and then to make changes to the work. Do drop by and see what he’s done lately.
From April 29 (Fri./National Holiday), the Hara Museum and Hara Museum ARC will begin selling Yoshitmo Nara x Hara Museum “My Drawing Room” Charity Large-sized Postcard Set to help the relief and reconstruction efforts in the areas struck by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
