In Kumamoto-shi Museum of Contemporary Art, I start “Katsura Funakoshi 2010” 展 on Saturday, December 11.
Sculptor, Katsura Funakoshi born in 1951 continued carving a human figure without changing from the early days. I stare at the distance far, and the image which I color Kusu and fitted the mesh of the marble in is full of quiet dignity, and the people of most of the world are attracted by the presence.
By the book exhibition, a print and the drawing put a portrait-like work of the 1980s, a work of the solid body symbolizing a mountain of the 1990s, molding of a naked body and the animal Sphinx which I developed again in after 2000 together mainly on a wooden sculpture to another most new work ≪ Sphinx ≫ of the announcement more in September, 2010 and introduce and convey the world of attractive Katsura Funakoshi.
