I start artist talking by a writer on Saturday, December 11 in commemoration of beginning “Katsura Funakoshi 2010” 展.
It is caused Venice Biennale at the start by a much international art exhibition, and Funakoshi gets a high evaluation as a sculptor on behalf of Japan all over the world.
It is known even to decorate the cover of many literary works including bestseller novel “仔 of the eternity” and Hiroyuki Itsuki “human relations” of Arata Tendo, and the sculpture of the person using his Kusu is loved by many people.
It is the valuable opportunity when I can know the work world of sculptor, Katsura Funakoshi attracting the world by words of a writer. I am stirred up, and please arrive.

I am born in 1951 Morioka-shi, Iwate
It is the first private exhibition at 1977 1985 Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music graduate school art graduate course sculpture specialty completion Nishimura art galleries
As a member of 1986 Agency for Cultural Affairs artists overseas training is stay (~’87) in London
I exhibit it at 1992 exhibition ドクメンタ IX( Germany) for 1988 the 43rd Venice Biennale (Italy)
I win 1997 the 18th Denchu Hirakushi Prize
In 2003 Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art a retrospective show (every receiving a prize 2009 50th wins a prize for art in patrol ~’04), the 33rd Teijiro Nakahara Prize on a day in the 59th recommendation of art Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Prize (Art Direction) as of receiving a prize Tokyo University of Art and Design guest professor)
