From January – April 2010, Philadelphia will host the inaugural edition of Philagrafika, a print-related art festival involving more than 80 local art institutions. The international triennial reexamines the role of print media in contemporary art. The 2010 festival presents works by more than 300 artists in its three segments. The Graphic Unconscious forms the core exhibition and features the works of 35 artists from 18 countries at five venues in the city. The team-organized show includes works by Tabaimo, Qiu Zhijie and YOUNG-HAE CHANG HEAVY INDUSTRIES. Out of Print invites five artists to create new works inspired by the collections of five historic institutions; and Independent Projects, organized by seventy-five additional cultural institutions, include a variety of solo, group, and thematic exhibitions.
