Robert Wilson restages homage to Japanese choreographer

Avant-garde stage artist Robert Wilson pays homage to Japanese choreographer Hanayagi Suzushi, a long-time friend and collaborator, with KOOL- Dancing in My Mind. Now 80, Hanayagi studied classical Japanese dance and modern dance in the 1950s. She moved to the United States in the 1990s where she worked with Merce Cunningham and Trisha Brown. She began working with Wilson in 1984, collaborating on over 15 productions. KOOL premiered at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in April, and is scheduled to be shown at Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY, August 8-9.
