Miyake Saori receives VOCA prize 2010

The exhibition touted as the steppingstone to success for emerging Japanese artists, Vision of Contemporary Art (VOCA) has announced its award-winners for the 17th edition. The 2010 VOCA Prize has been awarded to Miyake Saori (born 1975 in Gifu) for a secret talk and bed. The VOCA Encouragement Prize went to Sakamoto Natsuko and Nakatani Michiko; the Prize for Excellence to Kiyokawa Aasami and Saito Meo, who was also awarded the Ohara Museum of Art Prize. The exhibition of works by all 35 short-listed artists including the prizewinners opens on 14 March at the Ueno Royal Museum.
