Wang Chunchen wins CCAA Critic Award

The Chinese Contemporary Art Awards (CCAA) was established in 1997 by Chinese contemporary art collector Uli Sigg. The CCAA Artist Awards and Art Critic Awards are awarded every alternate year to promote the activities of Chinese artists and art critics in the international arena. Among last year’s Artist Awards, Ai Weiwei received the Lifetime Achievement Award. This year’s Art Critic Award was granted to art historian and curator Wang Chunchen. Wang will receive a research grant of 10,000 Euros and publication of his proposal ‘Art Intervenes in Society – A New Artistic Relationship’ as a book in 2010. The jury was composed of four members: artists Xu Bing and Qiu Zhijie, Art in America senior editor Richard Vine and Uli Sigg.
