Lago with a Girl 2009 Oil on jute Based in Germany, Ikemura’s work features young girls, birds and horizons, all serving as metaphors. The young girls with their eyes closed in her latest paintings exist in a space – is it imaginary or is it real? – causing the viewer’s consciousness to traverse between the imaginary and the real, the symbolic and the actual. Her latest drawings and sculptures will also be exhibited.
