The first solo show in Japan in seven years by one of the key figures of contemporary German photography. Thomas Ruff presents two recent series: cassini, constructed with images transmitted from the Cassini space probe studying Saturn; and zycles inspired by 19th century textbooks on electro-magnetism that portrayed magnetic fields on copperplates. Typical of a Becher School photographer, both investigate the informative and expressive qualities inherent in the medium known as photography.
