On July 5, the Aichi Triennale Organizing Committee announced the appointment of Hoor Al Qasimi, President and Director of Sharjah Art Foundation, as the artistic director of Aichi Triennale 2025.
The Organizing Committee for the Yokohama Triennale announced the theme and two new venues for the 8th Yokohama Triennale, which will take place next March. Titled “Wild Grass: Our Lives,” Yokohama’s historical buildings, Former Daiichi Bank Yokohama Branch and BankART KAIKO, have also been added as new venues for the exhibition.

The Japan Foundation (JF) announced on June 12 that artist Yuko Mohri has been selected to exhibit in the Japanese Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale. The exhibition will be overseen by Sook-Kyung Lee, senior curator of international art at the Tate Modern.
On June 16, the Inamori Foundation announced the laureates of this year’s Kyoto Prize. In Art and Philosophy, the 2023 Kyoto Prize laureate is Nalini Malani, an artist who has faced the predicaments of the oppressed, pioneered artistic expression representing the voice of the voiceless, and contributed greatly to the decentralization of art from the Global South.
