Take Ninagawa is pleased to announce Yoko Daihara’s first solo exhibition with the gallery, “Please eat, don’t eat.” Daihara makes woven paintings based on digital drawings that incorporate references to sources ranging from nature to abstract patterns and video games. She will be presenting new works in the exhibition.

Daihara is currently preparing a solo exhibition at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, opening in October 2022.

Yoko Daihara
Born in 1989 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, Yoko Daihara is a rising young artist working mainly with wool. Her works have recently been featured in group exhibitions including “Lavender Hair” at 2x2x2 by im labor, Tokyo (2021), and “Artist Running Festival 2020” at XYZ collective. Alongside artists Tatsuhiko Togashi and Yohei Watanabe, Daihara runs LAVENDER OPENER CHAIR/Tohmei, Tokyo, an artist-run space and restaurant.
