A new work by the driving force of the Korean contemporary art, Lee Bul, has been permanently installed at the Hara Museum ARC in Gunma. Set in the entrance lobby to the museum, A Fragmentary Anatomy of Every Setting Sun is the most recent – and largest – in the artist’s Infinity series of lightbox sculptures. During her career that spans more than two decades and multiple media including sculpture, performance and video, Lee Bul has been recognized for her provocative works exploring themes of beauty, corruption, and decay. She has a solo opening in late April at Lehmann Maupin Gallery in New York.
