Shirin Neshat Women Without Men 2009
The second staging of the Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions will take place this February. Taking ‘Searching Songs’ as its theme and striving to share and debate visions of new media art, the festival will present new media art works in the form of exhibitions, screenings and performances. Among the 160 works by some 100 artists slated to be shown is the Asian premiere of Shirin Neshat’s Women Without Men (winner of the 66th Venice Film Festival Silver Lion) along with works by Fiona Tan, Alfredo Jaar, Mike Kelley, and Tsuzuki Kyoichi. The Festival will be held at Yebisu Garden Place and will include outdoor exhibits on the streets of Shibuya.
