Art NPOs discuss cultural administration

National art NPO network Arts NPO Link is to host an emergency forum on Japan’s arts and culture policy at Yokohama’s BankART on the 23rd (Wed/public holiday). In the wake of drastic cuts to cultural administration grants in November’s government reassessment of projects and programs, the forum will debate the importance of arts and culture, gioving participants the opportunity to exchange views and ideas. Topics on the agenda will include reasons why arts and culture are necessary in contemporary Japan, plus issues and challenges for cultural administration in Japan today. Debate will be broadcast live on the internet.
