A suite of works (video projection, drawings, sculpture, and computer fonts) made during the past two years and inspired by the writings and philosophies of Marquis De Sade. The centerpiece is a 5 hour and 45 minute projection titled Sade for Sade’s sake, which premiered earlier this year at the Venice Biennale. As another major component of the suite, Chan has created a set of 21 computer fonts that transform the alphabet into the hypothetical erotic utterings of characters from Sade’s novels, poets, or contemporary public figures. The fonts are available for download from the artist’s website.
