A leading Australian artist who is also an influential curator, writer and scholar. Forbidden features key works in photography, sculpture, installation, printmaking and video spanning 15 years (1994 through to the present) to provide a comprehensive overview of Foley’s practice. Based on research of Indigenous people in Queensland at the turn of the twentieth century, she throws into relief the significance of Australian colonial history and the shadow it casts on the present.
