Born in 1962 in Paris, lives and works in Paris and New York.
Studies at the E´cole Nationale Supe´rieure des Arts De´coratifs, Paris (1982-85). Received a Special Award from the Jury of the Venice Biennale in 2001, where he represented France, as well as the Hugo Boss Prize at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York in 2002.
A major retrospective touring show “Pierre Huyghe” started in 2013 at Pompidou Centre (Paris), Museum Ludwig (Cologne) and Los Angeles County Museum of Art(Los Angeles).
For this time, the exhibition features a long film work “The Host and the Cloud” , sculptures which have the same motif shown in this film work, as well as one of the latest works shown at LACMA, and more.
