From Hara Museum ARC, Gunma
The 2 popular summer exhibitions are on view until Sunday, September 11.
The words “compete,” “fight” and “struggle” best describe the spirit behind the exciting exhibition Excitation of the Spirit on view at the Kankai Pavilion. The exquisite East Asian artwork from the Hara Rokuro Collection are juxtaposed with works of contemporary art.

Isamu Noguchi, Lady Mirror, 1983
In The World of Color: Selections from the Hara Museum Collection, on view in Galleries A, B and C, viewers are invited to experience the fascinating role that colors play in contemporary art expression through specially selected works from the Hara Museum Collection. One of the gallery rooms is dedicated to showing monchromatic works or those that uses the natural color of their materials, while others introduce paintings in which the colors are brushed on, dripped on or bled into the canvas in ways that suggest speed, density or some other quality in a multivaried world of expression.
Both exhibitions are on view until Sunday September 11. Please don’t miss them!
