Broadcast of Sesson’s “Portrait of Lie Zi” !

Sesson’s “Portrait of Lie Zi” (Hara Rokuro Collection) will be introduced on Premium 8, an NHK BS-hi high-definition broadcast on Tuesday, February 15 from 8:00 pm!

It is said that Lie Zi, a circa 5th century BC (Spring and Autumn Period) Chinese philosopher and Daoist master, possessed the power to cause wind to blow at will. In this delightful work, Sesson depicted Lie Zi gently swinging in the air with his robe fluttering.

The name of the TV program in Japanese is “Premium 8: daitan futeki na suibokuga Part Two Sesson.
E wa senjyutsu nari.” The guests of the program include Mr. Tatsuya Ishii, Ms. Hiroko Koshino, and Mr. Yuji Yamashita.

The work “Portrait of Lie Zi” will be shown in the first part (March 26 – April 27) of the exhibition “Selections from the Hara Rokuro Collection featuring Celadon Vase (National Treasure).”

Getting There: By train: Take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Takasaki, change to the Joestu Line, and disembark at Shibukawa. From Shibukawa, ARC is 10 minutes away by taxi or 15 minutes by bus (take the Ikaho Onsen bus to “Green Bokujo Mae”). By car: 8 kilometers (about 15 minutes) from the Kan-etsu Expressway Shibukawa Ikaho Interchange (in the direction of Ikaho Onsen).
