Mass on Sunday. The people of church displayed chairs to surround my work.　Father Holter decided a trial of this experimental mass.　I deeply appreciated.




Because, the Father decided to use the sculpture as an altar. I am glad. Therefore I postponed the plan that left Cologne and decided to watch mass. It was splendid. A work of the salt seems to be totally a round pond.



A voice of the clear Father wrapping up a work and a beautiful hymn. I spent dreamlike time.



I think that Father saw the mass. Anyway, I had a valuable experience. I cannot tell you how happy and thankful I was.

Spargel is not familiar very much in Japan. However, white asparagus is very major vegetables in Germany. For the period to be able to enjoy spargel, it is the middle of June from the middle of April.



Stephan and his wife, Hyun. They invited me to supper. Thanks.　Stephan is a great artist. I was same as him at time of the group exhibition “Hundred Stories about Love”, in 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in 2009. He projected a mouse by a green laser beam on the wall.



I went to the Germany's greatest art fair "ART COLOGNE" the next day. Huge Messe place along the Rhine.



The car that the work lying at the entrance seems to be a potato insect. It is interesting.　The exhibition of the inside is comparatively common. An airplane is canceled under the influence of the volcano of Iceland. Therefore the Japanese is the impression that I really have little. My some friends took this influence and gave up this voyage. "ART COLOGNE" would catch the severely wounding.



I looked at the Dome while being jolted to a huge chair.

It is finally an opening tonight. A poster was posted around the charch.

400 people came for an opening reception. In the first floor, there is a person around a work. And, in the second floor, a lot of people lean forward and stare at the work. In openings of this church, white wine and bread are always treated to. There are no other hors d'oeuvres. This is tradition of this church.



I spent peaceful time in the second party. The left, Mr. Horst Berkhahn of “Akzo Nobel” who offered salt this time, too. And knowing Father Holter. Thank you very much.



The last Mr. and Mrs. Bahl and Miki of the gallerist. This solo exhibition that I cooperated with Miki, and managed to reach holding. The greatest person who has rendered distinguished services is Miki ! Thanks. And the greatest supporter is Mr. Jürgen Bahl and Mrs. Cornelia Bahl. Search for sponsors, the presents of sushi and cake. And they presented the massage to me. Therefore my body which went bad recovered. I cannot tell you how happy and thankful I was.

There is excellent stained glass in this solo exhibition place St. Peter. The gentle sunlight of the afternoon changed a small window into natural stained glass.



By the way, I am finally a last spurt for completion. Five minutes more!

I used refined salt 170 kilos and made a diameter of 12 meters, 113 square meters. I installed the work every day for approximately 15 hours from ten hours and was able to finish it in 10 days. The all of you who considered it so that I could concentrate on making. I do not know how to thank you!



Kai gave me bath-salt. I heal fatigue of ten days.

I begin to work at about 8:00 every morning. When it is 9:00, the morning sun comes in through stained glass. The light that went along the bright glass colors the salt into red and blue. The light to change every moment is really beautiful.




By the way, making is the final stage. I was able to keep drawing it to about 90% by the ninth day. If there is not even a big problem, it is completion tomorrow.



From the left, Hiroko and Taeko of the friend. They came for support with me from Hamburg. Thanks. Mr. Yamada that the right is always cool. His German is the super best by fluency. He is staying as an interpreter of a TV station coming from Japan. And Miki of the gallerist to roar with laughter in the middle. What is so funny?

Today is the mass, on Sunday. The work covered a lot of floors. Therefore the chair was arranged to surround the work.



A lot of people come to the church. Mass, meditation, an exercise of the music of children, the repair of the organ, many tourists, and the photographer amateur.



The nice event for me. There was the origami of the crane on my chair. And the cash of 5 euros!



Ms. Ursula. is very kind for me. She served coffee to me who was tired. You have my sincerest thanks or all.
The remainder is 30% more, approximately 30 square meters.

It is Sunday today. There was mass for children in the morning, and there was an interview to me at the time. "Where did you come from?", "Why do you use the salt?"




And, I did the making demonstration in front of children. All of them are earnest.



The right is Father Halter, the center is Mrs. Maren of the event designer and left is Miki of the galleist. They are cooperative very kindly and, not to mention father, fix the environment where I am easy to make production. Thanks!



She is Lara of the daughter of Mrs. Maren. She drew a dynamic and wonderful drawing. "You are a future artist!"

I looked back because I heard a sound. There was a driver there. It seems to have fallen from the second floor. The position is about 1.5 meters distance from the edge of work.



The staff removed it. However, I decided to draw again. It is about 1 hour in corrected time.


It is a shock not to mention me. However, I received it calmly. I established the entrance newly to assume this trouble forward improvement. I may arrive at a goal from this new entrance. It is sure that the possibility spread.

Miki of Mikikosato Gallery who returned to Hamburg by work once came back to Cologne again. It is about 4 hours by a express train from Hamburg to Cologne. Her both hands have a huge suitcase. She brought an electronic rice cooker and rice for me. I love German food. However, rice is good when I was tired for making. Salted sea tangles match rice well! Stephane of the photographer said. Japanese want to always eat “miso soup”!!! And he brought “miso” for me at the time. Thanks.



And the TV coverage team arrived from Japan in the afternoon, too. They are Mr. Hota of the director of “MRO Hokuriku Broadcasting” in Kanazawa and Mr. Takagi of the cameraman. They came for the coverage of my solo exhibition from Kanazawa. Thank you!



This coverage is performed mainly on my production scenery for about 10 days. The picture seems to be broadcasted nationwide as well as Ishikawa within the prefecture in about this summer.


An interviewed person is Mr. Jürgen Bahl and Mrs. Cornelia Bahl. They cooperated for my solo exhibition. From collecting sponsors to the advice of the exhibition, I really thank you. Your thoughtfulness is truly appreciated.

The fifth day. Production 11 hours.



It is 52 hours in total production time until today. I was able to keep drawing it to about nearly 50% of the whole. I am behind the plan a little, but will be all right if there is not even a big trouble. Well I pray so!
