I am holding a Noriko Abe exhibition in SCAI THE BATHHOUSE.
Because I extend a session until 14th, please carry a foot.

The work of Noriko Abe is made with firm pure white paper called ユポ mainly.
The work repeats simple work in 湛然 and is formed while spending time becoming long for mind. In other words, I clip it out and repeat soaked in form, it in many layers and make the flowing elegant molding such as the stratum with a cutter by one piece of paper that the artist can have only the simple plane nature with one piece of it carefully.
When they produce the 30 centimeters square sculpture which seems to appear in a palm, 800 pieces say to the number of pure white paper which they put when they may sometimes exceed 1,000 pieces.

At this exhibition titled "TIME LAG"- Linear-Actions Cutting Project 2011, the Japanese temporal axes which are the American ground and hometown that are a team's home field of Abe who has been evaluated steadily by continuing producing Japan in the ground of detached room New York and a flow and the connection that are not arrested at first sight of the geography are fixed in the subject, and it is with the private exhibition of the artist whole body that only a new work is prepared.

I start an Ukan Ri exhibition on SCAI THE BATHHOUSE にでは, January 14.

Ukan Ri who is one of the writers attracting attention most globally now.
A large-scale retrospective show is held in New York, the Guggenheim Museum as if "Ukan Ri Museum" is opened in the Kagawa direct island in 2010 and generalizes recent international activity in this June.

At the exhibition in this SCAI THE BATHHOUSE, I announce the new work prior to a private exhibition in the Guggenheim Museum.
I am constructed mainly on painting, and it is with the display that rose in the novelty that it becomes the approach to a held retrospective show from now on.

I am displaying a new work by contemporary art exhibition plan competition.

Mariko Mori: I come up with the idea from the legend of the place of the soul transmigration in the Celts in the トムナフーリ (inkstone, Fukaya / Tsunehisa setting work) ancient times and produce a monument of the glass.
With Tokyo University spaceship research institute, the cooperation of the Kamioka space elementary particle research facility (Super-Kamiokande), I receive the detection data of the neutrino at any time, and the work which was displayed to appear in the surface of a lake emits light depending on the detection interactively.

Naoki Ishikawa: An island is a mountain
I think that I look at the Inland Sea minutely from the sky whether land called the islands is the mountain where I came to from the sea.
Such a question displays a new work at the starting point in the TV meeting room whether originally the island that the sea touches the land with is a mountain, and a mountain is an island.


Jun ジュンホ: I display sculpture installation (a new work) that I pictured the words that personal, are poetic of the chestnut charr of induction (I participate from gal Lee knotweed Usu ロパック) writer oneself and an expression of the modern society in in a life room.

Ukan Ri Museum (倉浦)
A personal art museum of Ukan Ri is opened in this June by a design of architect, Tadao Ando.
There are the space that ordered the exhibition room of a picture and the sculpture to the present age for a sculpture in Maine from the 1970s or the room of the fresco.
The presentation to be able to be called the collaboration with the Ando architecture is one of the highlight. In addition, some sculptures are displayed outdoors.

SCAI THE BATHHOUSE is now holding the first Japanese solo exhibition by the London-based internationally-acclaimed artist, Tomoaki Suzuki.

These small wooden figures of humans, each carefully proportioned and around 60 cm high, are all individualistic and fashionable. At first glance, each appears stylish, but closer examination reveals that each of these works rendered in the classical techniques of wood carving constitutes a highly finished portrait that unveils its model's inner being.

After a session was also left, it became little, but Mariko Mori "flat stone" is holding it until Saturday, October 3rd.
An author of NY residence visits Japan in an opening, too. I had many customers come, and it was a showy start.
The solid work by which Maine is also the exhibition title "flat stone". Inspire is made a Shinto ritual of the Jomon period, and it's the magnificent work which is condensing a production concept of Mariko Mori's recent years such as death and revival and is producing the solemn world. A rare painting is also exhibited this time, and author's delicate expression is shining.
The past, present and the future are the exhibition which can be satisfied with the peculiar expression world of Mariko Mori who reflects everything. Please appreciate it carefully by all means.

SCAI THE BATHHOUSE participates in project "Fukutake house" of Echigo wife existence art Triennale 2009 and displays a work of Kaoru Hirano.

"The Fukutake house" is the project that the gallery of nine inside and outside the country display in a private exhibition form as for the thing of an appeal of Fukutake Soichiro who is the general producer of the art festival each on the stage of former name ヶ mountain elementary school. Kaoru Hirano produces installation using one room of the classroom here.

The plains dismantle the clothes which people wore and perform delicate installation letting you express a new figure by rebuilding waste thread. I install the work using the old clothes of the grandmother of own in Maine this time and put the forgotten space called the closedown and depth of the memory of the old man on top of one another and let the whole classroom change into the work space.

An exhibition entitled as A House is not A Home started on the 26th of June.
There were a lot of visitors on the opening night.



Yuko Nagayama, who exhibited small sculptures using the technique of stereolithography having interviewed by ART LOVER TV program by Fuji Television.



Katsuhiro Saiki talk about his new works - both two dimensional piece and sculptures, inspired by masterpiece of architecture.



Kentaro Kobuke who lives and works in London returned in Tokyo for the exhibition, enjoys talk with Ms. Yoshiko Ikoma.



Noriko Ambe (center) also returned in Tokyo shows new sculptures and works on the wall.



Although it was in the middle of rainy season the evening was blessed with nice weather, which brought many visitors to the gallery.
The visitors are not only from art world but also from architecture, design, music and films.

The exhibition continues till the 25th of July.

The exhibition and "A House is not a Home" which start increasingly from tomorrow and June 26th.
It's an exhibition by an artist of 4 people with an original background respectively.

Exhibition preparations are in progress steadily at a gallery.

A new design of Kobuke Kentarou coming into action in London is exhibited at present.
It's peculiar via London stay, a new change is poetic and is also seen by the style in which a story was kept.

The front "picture sculpture" is Katsuhiro Saiki's work of NY residence.
The new interpretation by which here is also construction? I should say, a dignified expression is novel and striking.

To Tokyo unfortunately Mr. Abe destroys physical condition, and which is the very limit afternoon today.
Ichi performance clips paper, and it isn't the digital approach in which no one can hide surprise... in the work of transcendent art piled up, it's work of a hand to the end, this is already really wonderful.

Preparations are such feeling and smooth& is fun and developed, but six o'clock of tomorrow and Friday on the 26th is an opening at last.
This unique exhibition by 4 artists of attention.

There are ART UNLIMITED which is an exhibition plan every artist besides the booth in each gallery and Public Art Project where an announcement of an outdoor public sculpture is a place in ART BASEL.

And an opening of ART UNLIMITED is also a start of this whole art fair every year.

SCAI develops Natsuyuki Nakanishi's exhibition this year in the ART UNLIMITED.
International attention was collected in the worldview 9 canvas works, purple sand and a silver ball with noble feeling of the transparency interweave in the time of the pure painting absence.

On the other hand, YEPPE Hein installs LOOP BENCH before a meeting place entrance in Public Art Project.
He's let through during a session, and it's in a popular waiting spot!

Additionally a work of the Ogasawara beautiful ring which held an exhibition in October of last year is also exhibited at a gallery in Hamburg and Vera Munro as a SCAI author, the, a peaceful and peculiar style was shining.
